Hobart Shakespeareans travel all over the Western United States to supplement their studies of American History and the environment.
Having read Dee Brown’s Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, the children are well prepared to spend time on the Lakota Reservation in Oglala, South Dakota. The children not only visit Wounded Knee and the Red Cloud School, but even climb Crazy Horse Mountain.
Visiting Mount Rushmore and National Parks in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and California help them achieve a key goal of the Hobart Shakespeareans. They are not merely in America, but of America.
